ASAP is an after school activity program designed to provide education and awareness about alcohol & other drugs, and improve family interaction and community connections. ASAP is made possible through a grant from the Drug Free Communities Support Program.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS --The After School Activity Program gives kids the chance to express their talents in the arts, sports, and other areas of interest. The following are planned components of the daily program.
- Themes, curriculum and daily structure will be posted and referred to at the site facility and during
announcements at the start of the day’s program.
- Open ended drama, art and crafts projects will be designed to encourage creativity and promote a
healthy community.
- Homework time will include free reading or writing choices.
- Child participation during snack preparation will be encouraged.
- Indoor games, puzzles, and building materials which increase cognitive, small motor skills, and
social skills.
- Outdoor play and sports games to enhance physical fitness coordination.
- Small group discussion along with group learning and drug resistance skills.
- Community service activities.
- Fun, safe and healthy environment.
